Franchi O/U

Recommended Posts

Anyone shoot a franchi, I fancy a 20bore, toss up between beretta which I know is better or a franchi for half the price brand new, I'm just after something that's going to get launched about and generally well used... Pegandgun had a franchi and got on well with it, apart from being a decent shot with any gun, toss pot that he is :D...

Franchi owner opinions please :)

Ive got a Franchi O/U 12b game gun and I think its an excellent gun. Has really nice furniture and good engraving. I had 6 birds for 8 carts with it on saturdays beaters day  more luck than judgement though lol...

My franchi is 20 or so years old but its still tight, the barrels are spotless and I shoot with it well. I cant speak for the newer ones but mine is certainly built to last. I have actually been told that the newer ones arent as reliable but I dont know how true it it.

hi Ian i shoot a franchi 612vs auto,i can honestly say the gun seems bullet proof it puts up with a lot of knocks and bangs and just never misses a beat. The gun gets used A LOT mainly wildfowling, rough and vermin so has seen more heavy carts than most im shure.the gun is old a bit battered on the outside but still all good on the inside so i would recomend a franchi auto to anyone .

got two franchi's ian, 28'' franchi harrier o/u and a 612 franchi auto. I have nothing but praise for these guns , you get alot of quality for the money mate. I've put thousands of cartridges through them both with out any problems at all. All new Franchi's come with a 3 year gmk warranty!!! I got the harrier brand new for £640, can't see me changing for a very long time.

Went and had a feel of one the other day, I'd previously used a 20bore beretta and the weight difference is quite large between the two, the franchi is built on a 12 bore action, so its not much lighter in weight than my 12bore silver pigeon... the 20 bore silver pigeon is a lot lighter, which is the reason behind wanting the 20 bore... Overall the franchi is half the price of a silver pigeon but the build quality is nowhere near as good from what i could see, never the less, the franchi would and is a capable tool by all accounts, but I think I may have a deal with a secondhand beretta now, even better since their meant to be going up £200-300 soon...
