fin and fur 2
more to the point, does anyone know exactly how powerful the rifle was in the Tamworth case ? if the weapon was described as letal to humans (and whilst i fully accept that a 12 ft/lbs rifle can be letal) i would assume that it wasn't 'over' the limit by just a few ft/lbs i guess its probably true that theres more to this case than we will ever know but such a lengthy jail term would suggest to me that the rifle was very powerful in the accepted sense cheers fin and fur Quote Link to post
Tuzo 251
Ignorance isnt an excuse. They cant just let the guy off, they have probably given him the shortest possible sentance under the law but they cant make exceptions I was prosecuted 18 months ago for the same thing and was fined.............so no they didn't give him the shortest possible sentence. The court has to take into account mitigating factors as they did in my case. These factors are weighed up and then sentence is passed. True it is an absolute crime. I'm guessing there is more to this than meets the eye. Just as amatter of interest approx how much over was your equipment? 12.4 , Quote Link to post
charlwood1005 0
12.4 I guess that could be easily reached by having the rifle tuned to the legal limit. Then plod comes along and tests it with a different pellet and top drawer calibrated chrono. Is anyone safe to have any rifle running at 11.5. Quote Link to post
