JordKil 0
Just tonight my girlfriend decided to go check on the ferrets and within about a minute of her leaving the house my phone went and she started going on how theirs a fox at the ferrets! Went to investigate and there he was as clear as day sniffing and skulking about the shed (where the ferrets are) i ran at him scaring him off. He's lucky I didnt have the dogs out or he'd be harry's din dins. Then he had the cheek to sit and watch us at the shed from only 10metres away! How much of a threat is he to ferrets if he got in? as it aint half easy to squeeze in. Also is there any traps that I could set near the shed to maybe catch him? (that would also be safe and legal ofcourse) lol Cheers Jordan Quote Link to post
stubby 175
my ferts get visits from the fox most nights, never had a problem, probably more interested in the chicken coop than the ferret court, just make sure your shed is secure, havent seen him lately, but then Ive just finished the terrier run down there, but they used to sit in the garden watching us too, if theres no other livestock around you could prehaps try fox snares, but to use a live catch trap, you'll need a means of humane dispatch (not air rifle) Quote Link to post
mattydski 560
I take it you are town based rather than country based? If you were out of town based I could offer a quick and easy solution, with guaranteed no comebacks... Quote Link to post
Lerk 0
Big stick if you can get close enough, poisoned rabbit carcass or big stick with a pipe on it if you cant... Feel free to 'run over' it in the car too! Quote Link to post
JPTfellterrier 65
sounds like one of those cocky foxes we had round our way, someone has been feeding them or what we suspect is that rescue centre has been releasing them had one quite litrally siting on my doorstep which didnt move when we shouted.....its funny how those foxes didnt last more than a week Quote Link to post
ellir0305 9
sounds like one of those cocky foxes we had round our way, someone has been feeding them or what we suspect is that rescue centre has been releasing them had one quite litrally siting on my doorstep which didnt move when we shouted.....its funny how those foxes didnt last more than a week they released town foxes next to my house (in the middle of the country) and they walked right up to the farmer on my permission , then one attacked his cat, the next time it walked up to him it got a mouthful of lead. but apparently jordan human piss or hair around the area scared them off but if they are not scared of you this might not work, live trap it then take it to the country and get a mate to shoot it with a proper gun (i bet someone thought i was gonna suggest releasing then lol) Quote Link to post

jazz_11 5
people say there are more foxes in the town that in the country side, cant see how valid it is but i could imagine it with the amount of people leaving food out for them Quote Link to post

will.f11 24
either shoot it, or leave the shed door open for him to go in, lock the door and send a decent terrier to have some fun Quote Link to post
Foxy09 3
If you want to stay out of prison mate id ignore 95% of the above replies!! Get yourself a live catch fox cage, bait it with scraps from the kitchen or a dead rabbit then either despatch him with a rimmy or release him far away. Foxy Quote Link to post
