BenBhoy 4,706
i began a degree course at Salford Uni in Wildlife Conservation 2 years ago. i can 100% NOT reccomend this course at the uni. for a course to be classed as full time, it has to run for a certain amount of hours per week. at salford they didn't seem to have enough modules to fill the time slot, so had 4 hours of maths and statistics each week, pure algebra type maths.... on a wildlife course.... yeah!! if You want to do a course like this, i'd reccomend one of the specialist colleges (harper adams, bishop burton etc) labsnlurchers - congrats! hope you can get some sense across to the people who aren't quite in charge of this great country of Cymru. Jayd 0
I know it's not a wildlife degree, but a college pretty local to me, Myerscough has a lot of outdoorsy type courses, from gamekeeping, making warrens, looking after lambs and cattle etc. to tree work, landscaping, tractor maintenance etc. http://www.myerscough.ac.uk/Pages/Short_Co...Courses-Leisure I'm quite fancying the Beekeeping Edited January 26, 2009 by Jayd Quote Link to post

Jayd 0
Where are you? Not local to Myerscough are you? They do a lot of full time courses to do with the countryside aswell, I was just looking at the short courses as I can't tie to a long term commitment. Quote Link to post

Sighthound 49
After getting f**ck all at school I did an access course followed by a degree in Ecology (2:1)- then a post grad. Loved the degree but very few jobs then (late 90's) One week after graduating (mature student) back driving lorries on the continent as I had a wife and kids to support. Now self-employed gardener - love it. BenBhoy, statistics is a vital part of a science degree. Quote Link to post
