no,3 garden gun,

can you still by cartridges for the no,3? my mate has one and i have ferrets so we thought we'll shoot a few over the top of them for a change but his 12 bore would be a bit over powered for the jobbut hasnt been shooting with it in years,so nither of us know if you still can get them,?

No3 guns are still advertised new in Gunmart so can only asume you can get the shells. Haven't shot one of those for 40 odd years

personaly im not a big fan of them they just dont seem to have the stoping power for anything bigger than a mouse!!! unless your at point blank range!!! but have fun anyway mate!!!

They were desigined for shooting "pests" in orchards. That includes squirells and bullfinches and other bud eating birds, hence the lack of popularity nowadays. We used to shoot at each other with one back in the early 60's I have the scars

wouldnt stop a rabbit unless its within 3 ft

If i would you id get a .410 with 3" chamber. i think Baikls new cost £150 for a break barrel single shot but can get second hand ones for a few quid my one was £30 for a pre war webly bolt.

I came across a box in some old fishing tackle, they are 9mm we used to shoot sparrows and starlings with them. You could take them if you were near enough.

Crikey they've got dear...They where £4.00 for a box of 50 foichii last time I looked ......I once got given some solid shot for the 9mm garden gun,they originally came from france,they where about 1/2" long and about 100 grain soft lead bullet...they packed a hell of a punch ..but as it was a smooth bore it was very inaccurate.

 

As they say ...it ain't really the tool for rabbits.
