Brimmer 220
Took the old one out today, he had not been out since last weekend, he was keen to go. I was out yesterday, and was keen to stay in bed. Not so bad when we got up there though, we had one of the young dogs with us, (the other is getting better now, should be ok in another week), one hob and one jill in the box. Working further up the ghyll, where the slopes are not as steep. (saving the steep stuff when i'm on my own, this is not too bad for the old chap!) Dog got plenty of runs in today, ranging from long runs with the rabbits taking the piss. To the easiest pick ups possible. He had picked a couple clean out of there seats in the thick reeds without them moving a muscle, but he set this one and waited for it to move. (prefer the ones he just picks out of the seat.) Tried the jill on the high ground again, she did ok, but was given the run around by some of the more stubborn rabbits. In goes Spike after this, he's 3 yrs old now, but the backbone of the ferrets I have. So then the usual happened! 3 digs at 3 ft plus on the same warren, even i'm knackered! Pulled one out of a stopper, here's a clip of Spike at work! And all the holes backfilled. Seen a group of walkers coming of the hill, two dogs with them, one a lab and another collie/lab mutt x off there leads. Ok until they took of after the sheep. They owners have never got such a fuc#ing in their lives, luckily one dog was called back, whilst the daft golden lab carried on after a ewe, eventually it came back, but instead of knocking some sense into it, it got the bad dog and pointy finger. I told them what to do with the dog and they got another fuc#ing. (A few more folks probably against hunting now! ) Anyway,as the day went on I ran out of steam for digging, the dog ran out of steam for running and the old man had run out of steam before the day had started. Knocked off and wandered down with a decent bag of 27. All the best lads. Quote Link to post
