Guest Rod&dog
Seen a golden eagle,,,,Around here Something must not be right,,Was out this morning early out the house by eight mooching about the local countryside looking for a few fallow ,,Seen plenty of deer,,Muntjac,,,Black, white,,Normal coulered fallow deer ,,But no roe which is a suprise,,On my way back home,,I was walking down the hill to get to the road,,Got on the road and over on the left hand side of the road,, Seen a fiqure stood on the hillside,, I thought was a muntjac,,Thinking to my self little b***%*d as i had just been looking on this hill around the bramble and gorse patches that litter this little hillside ,,But as i got close i could tell it was no muntjac,,But a big bird of prey that was the whompinb big size and no other than a golden eagle,,But heres what i find stange,,I thought these birds where highland birds and very rare,,To have one down here (north of bristol) by the severn bridged,, i wasshocked,,I had the camera with me but just as it flew in to a branch and still did not hang around for a pose. Rolfe 2
Lloydy it was probably a sparrow that you saw.......had you been on the magic mushrooms again. :clapper: It may have been an escapee bird........but if it was indeed a Golden Eagle then you want to report it mate. I thought they were confined to the highlands of Scotland but i may be wrong. Rolfe.

Rolfe i can tell you now,, i crept up to whithin forty yards of it,, beofore it seen me,,And ive been reserching BOPS all afternoon and this was deffo the exact same match as a golden eagle,,I really am dissapointed i did not get a picture,,If it is a golden eagle i hope it does well here and hopefully theres a mate around for it,,Beacuse its quite the ground for them,,Just i dont think it will last long if it pops it head over the road where it may not be so welcome,,But i am going to go and have another look this weekend and make sure i get picture evedence. My first thoughts where that is was an escapee to do with falconry or something,,But it didnt have any tags or anything to suggest it was a captive ,,Im not sure even if you can keep them for falconry? Malt 379
Any chance that it could be a escaped bird? There have been high winds lately, maybe an outdoor flight was damaged somewhere.

jimb 30
i once came accros a prope3r wild cat, ear tufts the lot a couple miles outside a town center!... A wild cat does not have ear tufts. Rod and dog it could of been a sea eagle as I read in the shooting times they are releasing them in the UK but if it had been released it would of had a wing tag
