Well took Boadica out first thing this morning, was a real hard frost here in essex. Anyhow after scouring the fields i headed off towards a road that had been gated off both ends between the fields a few years back, it has just recently been re-tarmaced. Gets on it and suddenly ...up in the air i go :icon_redface: to cut a long story short...the telemetry on me back broke me fall...and the telemetry...Boadica took off like a bat out of hell to the nearest tree. Took several attempts to get to me feet, the whole road was a sheet of black ice. I suppose i was lucky really, could have been quite nasty if the telem and vest hadn't of broken the fall. Only a couple of slips had, a rabbit & a cock pheasant...both missed. Could turn out a costly morning :wallbash:

no spare set here mate, gonna give em a ring on monday. When you switch it on it just lets out a continious high pitched whistle, nothings broke inside so maybe its just gone out of tune with the impact, might need re-calibrating or something...well thats what i'm hoping. Thankfully the weathers crap as i was intending to go out, might have to invest in a back up unit further down the line though....

well hows about this then, got home & changed the battery, and it was still the same so in the post it went (tuesday dinnertime). Gets a phone call just after midday on wednesday to tell me its on its way back...arrived on friday..no charge :D it has a lifetime guarentee. Guy reckoned it was the battery :icon_redface: although the battery in it was new when i had the accident and i swapped it with another when i got it home just to double check the set. They have re-tuned it, and a modification as he said there was a drain on the battery from within the set ....happy days ay :D.

On another note had Boadica out today at 2lb 1/4oz, and after just getting her out of the landie and setting off, three rabbits bolted for cover from some long grass to a bramble. Only a short distance but she nailed the last one just before it could make it to safety. Anyhow got over to her and i tell you what i have never seen such a mixy infected rabbit, on impact Boadica had become covered in the foamy white spray that covered the rabbits head, she looked a right mess. Nowt else after that, one slip at a female pheasant missed in dense shrub if it had been another foot away she would have nailed....silly cow then thought she could take on a woodcock..no chance, and to end the day a sparrowhawk broke cover as she was returning to the fist and off after it she went (this is the second time in the same place) probably same bird, tried to chase should i say...soon gave up though..just like before.
