a mornings fish ing on lomond

Recommended Posts

A lovely morning descended up on us, i half exspected it to be frozen. It gave us a great chance to take some wicked snaps, why i waded the livebait jack pike out.

The fish held in the water was taken on a wobbled dead.... Nothing big was caught(biggest i think was 18lb that weekend on a trolled bait in 25ft plus of water) but i just love the buzz i get from loch lomond...

Hiya pal. Yea it was fecking freezing, my hands in the end couldnt work the reel, lol..

Yeah boat was parked up just in the side of the bay. It is moored back on lomond now. I am going to give it another season, got quite a few people booked in for the guiding you see. So it gives me a good chance to go back to my favourite place.

Also i will have some good lamping nights there as well, once the day is over for fishing.....

I don't quite get it, is that the bait in the first two pic's? because of it's positioning on the line (upside down) and why the lifting it out the water like so?

Yes it is the bait leegreen. A pike bait is always hooked up from tail first, as not to deep hook the pike, they swallow a bait head first, always....The bait is being cast out pal, how else would you cast it, without lifting it out of the water....

It would be ny on impossible to hook ajack faceing up the line, think about it. It would be tangled within seconds.........

Nice fish NID, how old is the photograph. I ask because i have a fish caught by one of my customers here, that has the exact same markings and is identical to this one, lol. Wondering if it is the same fish.

We once had a a 30lber out of the bay, then my mate and his mate caught it all in the same month, lol...

That looks like it was caught on the straight at balma,or just a t the beginning of the bay, not actually in it, correct me if i am wrong nid. Message me, cheers Russ.
