hello chaps

i bought my mrs a terrier pup 6 months now and it chews every thing so i took one of its chewed up squeakey toys and took the squeaker out. me and fatferret went lamping for rabbits he pi**ed himself laughing when he heard the squeaker but we didnt see any charlies

last night i took my boy with me, shone round with the lamp with filter on nothing so i took the filter off to see if there was any rabbits further up the ditch may be 500 yards away i caught the eyes of a fox so my boy lamped and i got on the back of the disco .i squeaked it on dogs toy and it came in to about 50_60 yards and the .17 did the rest . with the pup still chewing i will have a good supply of these callers

cheers stumpy

i use the same method, i took the small white squeaker out of a dog toy and inserted into some aluminium tube 2'' long with a 6mm internal diameter, then using brass ball chain (like the one used in bathrooms to hold onto plugs) i drilled holes in the tube near the end and inserted the chain to put round my neck. other than being able to call in foxes i can call in birds of prey and best of all rabbits! for some reason rabbits are mesmerized by the squeak and i can walk right up to about 15 yds quite normally without them moving, but when i stop squeaking they run, but stop again if i squeak! i discovered this 2 days before i left the uk for canada and wish i knew before. i even got a group run towards me from about 50 yds to 20 whilst i was sitting down! i have read before that rabbits are naturally curious of the sound another makes in distress, but i never knew how much!

i used this method in the past it sounds different if you suck the squeeker or blow it.....then if you turn it round and do the same the otherside its different again, sometimes iv seen it not work after 10 mins then a mate use his hand and squeek an they come in, but i caught a good few with your way of doing it but now im back to the old trusty hand
