Recommended Posts

cheers mate,,,didnt know there was a 2.8..

Yes, basically the Challenger is an import and because it proved so popular Mitsubishi officially released it as a UK spec vehicle and re badged it as a Shogun Sport using a 2.5 engine, which incidently has a timing belt as opposed to a chain on the 2.8 4m40 motor.

This is my challenger, 1996 on a P reg, absolutely identical to a lot of late model Shogun Sports. A very nice vehicle through and through but I'm going to sell her soon and get another Daihatsu Fourtrak as I miss my other one that I sold not so long ago to another forum member.

I had a swb 3.2 shogun 02 reg. Pull well, accelerated well. Heavy on the juice, low twenties 25 at best, I thought expensive to service and repair. Wife did one trip to glasgow and back and vowed never to get in it again, as she reckoned the seats were so uncomfy. Good off road, especially with All terrains on. Lots of folk think they are great, but for me I would have to look at something else.

We have an 04 plate Shogun Sport, Warrior spec. Good car, plenty of power, nice to drive and very reliable so far. Just a bit thirsty, especially with the caravan on the back. And has daft 18'' wheels with expensive tyres.

I've been told that a remapped ECU will help the fuel consumption, but I haven't looked into that properly yet.

Reagrds,

Ian
