zig zag wanderer 0
Can't see why anyone would want or need to cull Buzzards. Sounds like the gamekeeper mentality as usual; "It's a predator so it has to die" They actually spend most of their time eating slugs, snails, worms, frogs, carrion and other small mammals which shouldn't be a reason for the gamekeepers to lose any sleep. Now Badgers is a whole different ball game, should have been "thinned out" long ago. Any pest that spreads a fatal disease to human food stock needs to be controlled. After an hour and a half we finally get our stupid post of the evening. This is the reason i stated 'cull' and not just simply a wipe out of the Buzzard because there are certain months of the year that it is needed. However you are correct in you 'gamekeeper mentality' statement but it is you who is obviously uneducated? If you honestly think that the buzzard is going to hunt for food when there are 'easy pickings' such as pheasant and patridge poults you are seriously deluded.
Malt 379
Yet again, someone posts crap to give the antis more ammo, the likes of the RSPB & the RSPCA love this kind of shite. Talk about dangers to gameshooting, one post like this will do more fecking damage than 1000 buzzards.. Gamekeepers get enough stick for the alleged persecution of protected species, shite like this does them no favours, IMHO.

chartpolski 25,560
A few pairs were released across the Tyne Valley from me a couple of years ago; the other day I saw about ten soaring in the high wind. They are deffinately increasing in numbers. Cheers. Edited January 23, 2009 by chartpolski
