you ve never seen a good border have you , i must admit its been along time since i saw a good one but ive seen plenty over the years , one of the best dogs i ever owned was a border x lakie hell of a firey little dog with no reverse gear and that was her downfall

I have herd of borders that are no good but when x with lakie are tops but you will get the odd one that will do the job

Long time since I have had time to look at site, however, noticed this post, interesting, please all note, Levi died some years ago, Levi has not had a working Border for over twenty five years, a certain game keeper did work them PROPERLY for a while, went to small and he lost the line and all is history, they are ruined, you cannot reincarnate what has gone, ocassionaly 1 will come through to make a fox dog, this breed has been ruined for a long long time and unfortunatly this now inferior terrier is being used, as posted, to cross with fells, lakeys etc to help ruin their blood, the simple reason there are very few trus unspoilt bllod lines about today.

 

Good luck and if serious about digging, dig a hole and back fill your Borders, or any inferior terriers that do not work!!

I have Levi Oates strain of Border and Middleton's line of Lakies, I would never cross them myself. Both good working strains, why mess with the breed when theres no need.

Dont want to be a smart arse, but his surname is OAKES NOT OATES, good luck with your terriers, if there any good it must be down to you not middleton, hes another phoney, money maker, show man, has been some 40 years ago, a member of the public bar bull shit club (do all their digging at the bar, wilkinsons rock and all that shit)
