Cant imagine its very comfortable walking on a mesh floor :o have you tried it yourself ?

thats the way me my father and everyone i know have done it for years. Its better than walking on pissy/shity wood and getting foot rot.

I have read a couple of books that have stated in them that mesh floors are better for ferrets feet than a wooden base I dont use mesh my self but know a few that do I think its just a preference thing realy, my freinds have no bother with any foot problems and the ferrets seem happy to walk on the mesh. So each to there own mate bonny ferrets and good luck with them :good:

cracking looking ferrets mate.

for my ferret flooring i have used the big signs tesco use to advertise there deals outside the shop, the thick plastic ones that are encased in the plastic stands, i stapled it about 1" up all 3 walls leaving it stapled to the floor by the door this is only temporary until i get some lino flooring to do the same with as it will last longer

When i first saw the pict's i thought you had a run attached to your hutch. Both my hutches have wire floors because my dad made them that way where he lived he kept them out the road and the crap would fall through the wire and he would scrape it out from under the hutch .

But when i bought the ferrets down here i had to put plywood on top of the wire because it would be more acceptable to the neighbours .But my dad kept ferrets for years and years like that and as you say its a perfect set up
