May I have a question? What each breed adds to the result?

And when choosing the "ingredients", how do you know what exactly you put in? How do you know about a white Lakeland that it is not a Russell? (lets say it doesn't look that Lakie in his looking like and the dog was not born by you.) When saying you cross a Lakie x Russell, while 90% of the Russells are Lakie crosses (am I mistaken?), what is the advantage of a Russell in this mating? Actually this will be a Lakie x Lakie mating, won't it? How do you know about a dog that it wasn't mixed 3 generations before?

When saying about a breed (Lakie, Bull, Russell) do you exactly know how the dog (his temperament, his work) is? Aren't there softer and harder Russells and softer and harder Lakies?

Sorry for the questions, I'm just a beginner, who wants to understand. I also exactly know where are the Lakelands in my dog's anchestry.

Thank you in advance,

Anna

To be honest no-one realy knows whats in there dogs unless they bred them, and that still doesnt mean you know everything! Youve just got to take there word for it and thats it!

Most russels are good mixers, bayers and like to get stuck in at times also good above ground! Dont know much about lakeys but they seem to be solid dogs so i guess its to make a good! MIXER! Good bolter good digging dog and takes a good grip now and then!
