scent 509
Well tonight saw the next leg of the lamping competition between sionnach and irish pup and myself as the judge. We met up around 8 o clock and headed to sionnachs permission .The fog was thick on the ground and the rain was pouring down but the lads agreed to belt away anyway.Sionnach won the toss and got the first slip .After a few good runs it was sionnach 2 up but irish pup was soon back in the running with a great pick from his dog to bring it back to 2-1.As we progressed up and down the hills the rabbits were thin on the ground due to a few foxes being ahead of us but the dogs done well on the few slips they got and it was soon 3-2 after a great catch up and down the hill by sionnachs bitch and irish pups dog had a great catch when he coursed a bunnie up and down a ditch picking it in brilliantly.Sionnach then went on to get another followed by irish pup picking up another on to bring the total to 4-3 to sionnach .The lads made a good night out of it considering the conditions were so foggy and it was great to see such good sportsmanship between the two lads ,i take my hat off to the both of yee .The two dogs were class acts as they stalked to within inches of the bunnies and were a pleasure to watch and judge ,so sionnach is through to the next round . edited to add i fooked up the name it was irish pup not irish lurcher my appologies folks Edited January 22, 2009 by scent Quote Link to post

Great to see everyone concerned behaving with class, this has been a real sporting event and so far is a testament to the lads entered, sporting spirit Quote Link to post
