spear fishing

hi, i was oput spear fishing on the sea grass beads yesterday and got a nice 45cm flatty, ive been doing this since i was 13 and wondred if any one else onthis site does it too, im sure it's ilegal in the U.K but who'd do it any way?? too mfecking cold lol .

 

p.s today i brought a new gun, i use to use a sling but this gun goes off, going to use it on and off the reefs for snapper butterfish and the bigg flattys we get in out bays

Yes mate, love it . Did a fair bit when i was travelling around NZ, got on the end of quite a few nice snapper and morwong but never got a kingy unfortunatly. I lost interest in the butterfish after i found out how much they attract sharks after a close encounter (a 3.5mtr plus one at about 5ft distance!) with a bronze whaler f**k that

 

I've been spearing in the UK for around 6 years, main quarry is Bass and coaly but get the odd nice mullet and flatty. I started with cressi sl pneumatics but now only shoot rubber guns. I've got a Cressi apache 75 for around rocks and bommies and a Rob Allen 110 for beach and more open water; fins are cressi Gara 3's

Guys, i have never been spear fishing, but i am a keen skin diver. I would like to try it, anywhere in britain special you could recommend.

I mainly go on the south coast around Portland or down to cornwall. Had some cracking fish around lands end where the water was as clear as gin. I've heard that scotland has a lot of good, high viz stretches of inshore water and i'm keen to get up there sometime.
