fireman 10,869
My bitch has a good dose of Coalville Billy's blood in her,as well as Cerbi's(grandsire both sides) and some calva blood as well. The important thing and her work record seems to prove this is that she was bred worker to worker and both parents were(sire died)/are proven earth dogs. When the time comes to produce a litter from her a proven earth working plummer will be used over her and yes i have found a few sutable studs. This breed does need more earth working dogs in it's ranks before the rest of the working terrier world gives it the credit it deserves. Big bald beautiful 1,231
how many stud dog have you narrowed it down to? Quote Link to post
Big bald beautiful 1,231
Another thing is ...Ask yourself why these studs get moved from home to home? if there so good why hasnt a friend snapped it up? seen several of these dogs work and not one was with its original owner Quote Link to post
fireman 10,869
Last year i had a list of about 6 dogs, all pure bred and pta redg'd and i didn't really look any further,i'm not ruling out using an outcross dog but do have a couple of pure proven earth dogs that i am more tham happy to use to produce what i'm after.I only need one to do the deed mind and this dog has been used over my bitches litter sister and produced some nice pups, but then as long as the pups i produce work who cares what they look like,to many folks breeding for looks in this breed and if i can't use a proven earth dog then i'll not breed from her. Guest 10/22
Another thing is ...Ask yourself why these studs get moved from home to home?if there so good why hasnt a friend snapped it up? seen several of these dogs work and not one was with its original owner do you mean the likes of cerby, he had a few homes, didnt you own him at one time jamie? I avoid any lines with him or his offspring in their pedigrees, need to loose the dimorphism gene, plus he always had a nasty red patch on his leg which never appeared to go away, certinly dont want any of that in any of our stock Quote Link to post
