Best way is to just ask alot of farmers for permision, most dont require payment for it as your doing them a favour keeping their pests down, just pop round a a load of farms, dressed up smart but not over the top, and just explain that you want to help control their vermin for them, if they say no, just try the next farm along. of course when you get your fac with land theres then nothing stoping you joining a club and doing target' shooting, but you will need to keep ontop of the farmers pests too to keep in his good books. oh and after a quick google http://www.threecountiessporting.co.uk/go.html is that near you? No problen having a rifle for target work only and by FAR the easiest way to get a FAC for many. It will need to be a properly sanctioned club and you will have to serve a probationary period. Country Life 0
No problen having a rifle for target work only and by FAR the easiest way to get a FAC for many. It will need to be a properly sanctioned club and you will have to serve a probationary period. You will have to check for Local Gun Clubs, plod will be able to advise you. Couldn’t agree more, that’s how I started out, once probation period is over you can then apply for your FAC, the gun club will tell you how to fill it in and most importantly they will tell you to add all sorts of calibre to it, that way you will not need to send it back for amendments, I still don’t own all the rifles on my ticket but who knows in the future. For instance I have: .22lr x3 .22 mod x2 .223 x1 .308 x1 .223 mod x1 .357 x1 Muzzle loading rifle x1 Black powder x1 The FLO did insist that my house was fitted with a burglar alarm, due to the amount of guns on the premises, still haven’t done this but there again I don’t have the latter 2..
