here's mine bud,its a R plate 300tdi. My opinion is you cant get better for off-road work, i am still doing things to it to suit my needs. since buying it

New wheels with mud terrain tyers on it the, main thing to get done, just put the tree sliders on which are fully jackable which will come in handy. also had the ifor williams canopy powder coated which has made a massive difference when out shooting etc does not stick out like a sore thumb.

Next plan is to put side bars on the rear tub body work and then new winch bumper and winch.

Got the back kitted out for the dogs with terrier box etc. I was originally looking for the van type model but since getting this pick up realised it suits much better as the dogs and all the gear including the mess can stay in the back another advantage is with having the small cab it heats up a lot quicker.

running costs of the motor are quite good really if you can maintain it yourself, and they are easy to work on. MPG think i am getting around the 27mpg which is good with the little bit of extra added weight. and the insurance is also very cheap.

you might find the 90 too small as a family car also you need her to get a drive in one if she hasnt driven 1 as there not everyones cup of tea there realy off roaders for the road not like other 4x4's that are road cars for a occasional off roading if she does go for 1 there is a great land rover mechanic called grahm cooper at hodges farm just up the pencaitland road

hey here's my old defender 90 before it got nicked. she was great off road, i just used her on off roading days at the quarrys and as my hunting bus. they are abit over-rated though are landys as you'll always have jobs to do on them. i've got a discovery now but it isn't the same. it depends how heavy your foot is as to how much diesel they sup. there pretty nippy when you get going. take it easy
