which sex ferrets?

Recommended Posts

Well i sugest if everyones full of shite do the looking for yourself , aplastic anemia exists & can cause problems if there left in prolonged season, fact, you asked the questions , you were given opinions

And for the record i didnt sugest they had to be breed, they need bringing out of season because there induced ovulators & that means the hormone levels are higher & thats is what causes the red blood cell problems hence the anemia

To be honest your looking for the cheapo option, you want ferrets but you dont want to have to do anything other than feed them cost wise , well dont we all in an ideal world

sorry to cause offence and i didnt say you were full of shite, as far as i understand anemia is an iron deficiancy, yes?

so why not just increase the iron in the diet?

Another condition altogether , ferrets need inducing to ovulate & if there not then the estogen levels are sky high, thats what kills off the red blood cells & is basically the cause of that sort of anemia, its not a myth its a fact

You know the methods to use to bring any entire jills out of season thus reducing the estrogen hormone levels.

you are right mate any one that has ferrets will or should no this but most dont care they think there ferrets are ok for 5 years and that it well they are ok of 2 times that.

i egt mine done every year or i bread of them we all think that there are just there to get rabbits out for us but lets give them the life they should have look after them give them what they want with out them we would not have the rabbits

It is a wasting of the bone marrow that causes the anemia

As i understand it the estrogen at high levels kills of red blood cells , the bone marrow becomes incapable of producing red blood cells & thats what delivers oxygen to the vital organs, hense the shorteing of breath in a jill with the condition

Without wanting to get into a biology lesson Kay, you a partially right. Yes the bone marrow breaks down but it changes the make up of the red blood cells meaning that the red blood cells cant carry oxygen, and the white blood cells cannot be produced which means that the ferret is susceptible to secondary infections.

I think the good thing is that people do take measures to prevent this condition , i feel sorry for anyone who is so blinkered that they dont even acknowledge its existence , thank god there is a valuable pool of information out there due to more people taking there ferrets to the vets for things other than very minor problems

But Kay for some people ignorance is bliss and as for some people they need to be dragged into the new century but this will come at a cost.
