gluebeam 0
hi all, my dad has aggred to let me dig a flight pond on his land. there are 11 achres which slope down to two quite big lakes which hold some diving ducks, ive been wanting to attract some mallard or teal and was just wondering how to make a flight pond. i was thinking of digging it out (by hand ) close to one of the big lakes and then using the lake to flood it. what sort of size/depth will it need to be and are there any shapes/ specific vegitation which should be used? the pond will most likely be situated in a field which slopes down to the lake and therefore the pond will have to be dug into the slope, its not that steep tho. thanks

claybusers al 9
if you can get away with just flooding an area that is great for flighting ducks you dont need depth if thats all you want then just keep it well fed if you want to rear and release ducks then do it onto your lakes if your wanting to feed ducks in sweepings and lights are very good also pig feed or cracked barle and wheat but your leaving it a bit late for this year
