Another great day!

What a day! We set lots of long nets and purse nets; I got a lesson off Daz to set my new traditional net and later he fixed my quickset net which was in such a tangle!

We put the ferrets in here

and literally within 15 seconds we had a bolt! We worked all the way up on the part Daz and Ferretville had cleared earlier in the week then back down the hedge line. On two occasions Daz had to dig and got two rabbits out each time!

Ferretville had his fair share of digging too but the ferret moved after he’d dug for ages, this was a lot deeper than it looks!

I dug to my ferret and pulled a huge rabbit out after a tug of war effort!! ;DYoung Daz and Jamie were with us too and they were a great help, Daz threatened to put Jamie down a five foot hole he dug with a small spade telling him he would be held by his ankles until he got the rabbit – his little face was a picture!

Here’s Jamie getting a lesson on putting a purse net away and later on in the day he had set a purse net where a rabbit was caught! He was well chuffed!

Both he and young Daz made sure all the rabbits were pee’d and in a neat pile, Young Daz is a really good help - he just seemed to be there whenever he was needed! Sox got a rabbit and took it straight to Daz – that pup is coming on really well!

I got shown exactly how to use my MK3 locator and now finally understand it thank god! Daz had a bit of a ‘Basil Faulty’ episode!! :o He was under a load of thorns and two rabbits bolted at the same time I was far too busy laughing at his mini paddy to be of any assistance whatsoever! ;D Even Sox came and stood next to me for a few minutes until the steam had left his ears! Ferretvile was a great help to me climbing over barbed wire when I fell in mid air and landed on him – poor soul! My trousers eventually had their day when I tore them right at the end thankfully, then it took me an eternity to put my longnets away – I think Ferretvile thought it was nearly next Christmas! We ended the day with a great bag of 27 rabbits and a mind full of treasured memories! Thanks again lads for such a brilliant day!!
