When i rewired my lightforce i couldnt take the front off because of the grub screw. All i done was get a slodering iron and melt away a bit of the plastic so the front that holds the bulb can just slide out. I also replaced the switch and moved it to the back of the lamp instead of the front.

YOU DONT HAVE TO MELT THE PLASTIC JUST DRILL THE RIBIT (GRUB SCREW) OUT. THEN YOU CAN GET INTO ALL YOUR LAMP WITH NO CHEW OR FIDDLEY BITS.

my mate got one for christmas and we have also had nothing but problems, firstly not lasting more than a hour and a half, then the conector bit coming in and out, then the fuse blowed and now the bit between the lamp and the battery that can go in the car is faulty so it has stopped working all together, its a piss take you pay £150 for somthing and you expect it to be quality not shite..........so annoyed with the company, and his dad is taking it bac to the shop although it is in about 5 diffrent bits as he cut it up trying to find out what the problem was

How is it the lamps fault that it only lasted an hour and a half?

That is actually about the total lighting time you can expect from an 18 A/hr battery, the idea is that you use for short periods.

I wish I had a shop, there'd be some stupid people leaving with lamp cables wrapped around their neck and a Lightforce Striker sticking out of their arsehole.

If people don't understand how to use things, then they should leave them well alone.

I'd have said that the main problem with that lamp was a retarded owner ........ 5 pieces? Let me guess he cut it up with a breadknife?!

i think you misunderstood me there i didnt mean 1 1/2 having it on all the time, i ment an hour and half maybe slipping the dog twice and having it on half a dozen times for short periods of time and not using it alot at all

no the conector thing, the bit that you can take off and plug in the car has a fault on it, somthing not right inside of the solid plastic bit so he got a bit carried away even though we told him just to leave it and we wont go out tonight and take it back to shop, but he got carried away trying to fix it and took it over to the workshop,he got it working by taking the conector out and rewiring it but its no good

and yes i have no idea how these things work but it is obviouse to me that there is a fault on it.......so dont start its not my lamp.......and it was a pen knife actually

just an update , i emailed lightforce to complain about the poor quality of the wiring and the problems iv'e had and they told me they have had quite a few complaints and they were sorry, they sent my email to Phillip Unwin Managing Director,RUAG Ammotec UK Ltd.E-mail: phil@ruag.co.uk , and he sent me a new cable and a better quality plug attached,so those of you with problems get in touch . anyway i took my lamp to a mate who is more patient than me and he rewired it for me but while testing found that the variable control was faulty as well , so i got my lamp but no variable control now , so another email will be sent to deben this time to see if i can get this replaced. shouldnt have to go through all this with the price we pay .

I'll agree with you there! Bought mine from a car boot for £5, changed the plug to a lawn mower type been no trouble at all.
