mubz2cool 4 Posted January 15, 2009 Report Share Posted January 15, 2009 (edited) Hi all, just wanted to know what your oppinions was on the following.... i have just gained permiton to shoot pigeons over a Wheat/corn farm in warrington. The farmer is a nice bloke and if you are polite he normaly lets you on to shoot. there are about 6/7 other guys that come to shoot on the same bit of land aswell, some of them have had it for 10/20 years... anyway whilst i was out i was approched by a nabouring land owner, he came to introduce himself and to make sure i was not crossing any boundrys onto his patch. He mentioned a guy who shoots on the land i have permition over and was trying to warn me to stay out of his way!! he was baisicly saying this guy HATES it if others are on "his" land (he donsnt own it just got permition) and that he will confront you and try to intimidate you so you can leav. He also said this chap is the sort of bloke who will set up a hide next to yours even if your there after him! and will do his upmost to spoil your days shooting. After i heard this i was realy anoyed as this guy dosnt have the right to be doing what hes doing, i can understand if hes had the land for a long time but hes got just the same rites over it as i do and he donst own any of the land. what do you all this about this??? Seriously, please do not think twice about this guy. He was trying to intimidate us and not show up again. I reckon things are nowhere as bad as he said. He just wanted to scare us off. As I told you on the day, people like him and his friend ought to get a real job. I mean, how pathetic is it to obtain as many permissions in an area so you lock newcomers out and then ask for £100 so they can shoot in 'their land'? Who is he to tell you what you are allowed to do in someone else's property? Forget about it man, seriously. Let me know when you want to go again! Quote Link to post
activeviii 8 Posted January 16, 2009 Report Share Posted January 16, 2009 just see how things go, at worse you'll have someone to talk to in between pigeons coming it. you never know his hide might be better so you could pop over for a coffee. hehe. wait and see, no point in getting wound up on not knowing the truth. if this other one does start up with silly business just tell him to share your hide if he likes as it will save him the hassle of building himself one. showing your not bothered will just making him think twice. if this does work then return the favour ext time you bump into him. two can play that game regards Phil.
