Guest GLENN WELSBY
IT HAS COME TO MY ATTENTION THAT THE PTA HAVE FAILED IN THEIR QUEST FOR BREED RECOGNITION WITH THE KC. DUE TO AN OBJECTION BY THE PTCGB. AS A NONE MEMBER OF EITHER CLUB I WOULD LIKE TO ASK ALL PT OWNERS TO THINK HARD ABOUT THE FUTURE OF THE PLUMMER TERRIER. I AND A GROUP OF FRIENDS STARTED THE PTA WITH DBP SOME TIME AGO AND WAS ASKED TO KEEP THE GENEPOOL PURE FOR TEN YEARS THIS I HAVE DONE. IM ASKING ALL MEMBERS FROM ALL CAMPS TO COME TOGETHER AS SOON AS POSSIBLE AND FORM AN ALLIANCE, AS BREED RECOGNITION IS THE ONLY WAY FOR THE BREED TO SURVIVE AND THE GENEPOOL TO EXPAND, REGISTEREING50 OR SO PUPS A YEAR AT PRESENT IS SIMPLY NOT ENOUGH. A FEW FRIENDS OF MINE HAVE ASKED ME TO FROM THE EUROPEAN PLUMMER TERRIER REGISTER..THIS IS NOW IN PLACE AND WILL RECOGNISE PLUMMER TERRIERS WITHIN REASON FROM CLUBS SUCH AS THE PTA PTCGB AND THE WPTS.SPTS AND FPTS. ALL THAT IS REQUIRED FOR REGISTRATION IS A COPY OF THE CLUBS PEDIGREE AND A FEW PHOTOS THE PRICE IS FREE! CONTACT ME ON GJW@WYREMEAD.FSNET.CO.UK 07769568273. Quote Link to post
CumbrianJack 2
The KC will not recognize a breed until a club of good standing has been registering dogs for 10years & you must also have the support of many breeders & a proper breed standard that has been unaltered for 10 years. No crossbreeding of any kind can of been done in the past 10 years either. You need to speak to Mrs Hallett at the KC. I know this as i have tried in vain to have the Jack Russell recognized as a seperate breed from the Parson Russell, we will get it but only in time though if the KC joins the FCI we would be better off on the scale! The Irish Kennel Club registered the JRT seperately from the PRT about 6 years ago now & all my own dogs are registered with them (costly & timeconsuming) but i felt this was the only way to keep the dogs we have alive, the lines would die out if left as hunting & working terriers as its now not a subject youngsters take up with enthusiasm most prefer playstations or football as to the task of keeping a dog. The American Kennel Club has also just recently recognized the breed Jack Russell Terrier so the JRTCA can go whistle!LOL the breed will be given full recognition from the FSS register in about 2 years time & will be known as a Russell Terrier. The JRT (10-12") as a breed has been recognized by Australia since 1990 & is in nearly every KC around the world except England as yet. Working people may mock KC recognition of any working terrier but lets face it they don't ruin the breed its the breeders who do, if you have the right breeders the dogs will still be worked, being KC registered means the dogs can go to foreign countries & be working dogs where hunting is still allowed on a large scale. Guest kelly d
I hereby declare that I intend to establish the inter-galactical Plummer Terrier Association via the following stages: 1. contacting Mr George Bush asking for permission to send a Plummer Terrier on his next space mission. This will, of course, get the Plummer Terrier worldwide recognition. 2. The Committee will be made up of Mr Flash Gordon, Dr Who and Mr Spock. 3. The AGM will be held on Mars which may have the unfortunate side effect of turning the terriers green with six legs, but I'm sure we can re-write the breed standard 4. If none of the present Committee can attend the AGM, I'm sure we could all agree on someone to beam up. Anyone interested in joining this new Association, please stick their finders in their ear, rub their belly three times whilst singing God save the Queen. I am, of course, doing this for the benefit of the breed only - not for self promotion or world domination. yours Captain Marvel Quote Link to post

Squirrel_Basher 17,100
Why anyone would WANT to register any working breed with the K.C is beyond me .Working qualities are sacrificed for the sake of churning out pups for money. Quote Link to post
