My thinking is, it has nothing to do with global warming, Rabbits are one of natures true survivers, and i think the more we hunt them the more they will breed to increase their numbers.

What do others think to that theory?

I was hoping the piccie would get pulled by now to be honest. But now it's been quoted only a mod can delete it.

Bad crack that like, when's ferreting season going to be within the next few years??

I was always taught you should only ferret when there's a letter "R" for Rabbit in the month!!!!

The way it's going you'll only be able to hunt in the months that have an O in them. ;)

I work on the high ground, so I suppose they breed later than most. Even now they are paired and bucking. Give it 4 more weeks and our season will end. You'll see the tubes in the back end start to swell up. Thats the start of the first litter.

If it has to be done then keep getting them, but if it's sport I won't carry on.

Bloody hell I am a soft t##t!

theyve bred a bit later than they did last year,i had squeakers while out ferrting by this time which was a shock, they were that small they didnt even move the nets.i was amazed when the dog brought them back live to hand :icon_eek:

Ive found the same thing Col g, from new year last year I was seeing young about on some of my lowground, but no young yet this year. Only a couple of pregnant does.
