Brimmer 220
Seeing as normal folk are working hard, whilst jobless muppets (myself) are stuck at home doing nothing, I went out today, just to give you something to read, with the terrier on the ghyll side as the old one does not seem interested for some reason! (Bit too steep for the old man I think!) Took one of this years hobs which has been doing well so far, very darkly marked poley, fast as feck and he is now named the black assassin! He stops whatever he can get his teeth near, any that escape on the ghyll side are cute rabbits, they explode out of the holes, and if not netted end up 10 ft down the hillside when they land. He was dug to around 12 times today, but not much got away from him. I like that sort of commitment! The russel earned his keep again today, starting off fast again, needing bringing in with a lot of cursing for the first hour, but then settled in, quartering the wind up and down the ghyll side, marking anything that was there. Covering any holes and the nets just in case he got a taste! Lost him for 5 mins while I was backfilling, found him here, now thats not going to bolt is it? He's winking at you! Now he thinks he's a ferret! (He might not have been to big for fox after all!) And also getting sidetracked trying to catch moles in the surface runs! It's a cracking looking place to be honest. And a pleasure to be out here, even though it's very steep! Had my heart set on getting 20 bunnies off here today, was at 19 for ages, the dog slowly grinding to a halt, he got a final mark, and got the 20. Right all I Have to do is get them back up! Finally after around 15 mins I got to the top! Had to knock off early at 2pm as the farmer wanted me to set a few traps for him. Oh! final 20 in the bag, quite a bit of graft, but thats rabbiting for you! Quote Link to post

Brimmer 220
i dont envy you that land atall, think i will stick to working hedgerows rather than what looks like cliffs, but seems you did good, congrats on not falling down the hill as much as anything, the pic of the rabbits on the spade made me think of it tipping over and just watching the lot tumble down to the river good pics wbk (but it is pretty damn nice to look at dont get me wrong) Often think what would happen if you slipped in your waterproofs there, bye bye! Always find a firm flat spot for the ferret box to sit on! Quote Link to post
