My self i would get a rough coated bitch from working parents and introduce it to ferrets a couple months old, let the bitch smell the ferret every day and let the ferret run around the bitch, make sure you keep a eye on them at all times and control the dog/bitch if it trys to grab the ferret and correct the dog/bitch"s behaviour if it trys to bite, And make sure the terrier nows your in control all the time and you should be ok if you put the bond and effort between them so all the best!!

get a beddy x whippet, great for bushing and can catch bolted rabbits.

Patterdales are basically small staffordshire bull terriers.

okay i'll rephrase it:-

A lot of patterdales have a high percentage of staffordshire bull terrier blood and staffs are known more for gameness than hunting instinct and brain.

Sorry Blake but I don't really agree with what you've said either, like small Staffs? no brains? not sure where you got that info mate.

KinderBeano, For Ferrets and bush work, I'm led to believe that Beddy Whippets are excellent, but as Rough coated said, if you plan on doing lots of bushing with the dog and you only want a terrier then a good thick wirey coated out of dogs who do a lot of this type of work would be a good idea.

Hello mate if you are looking at getting a patterdale for some bushwork for rabbits with the ferrets it is a waste. A patterdale is a working terrier one that works to ground to fox not for rabbits if you think fox higher and rabbit is at the lower level. Most dogs (pet dogs) will easily pick up the skills to hunt rabbits.

But its up to you mate
