Deker 3,478
Cable and ground anchor are acceptable under the Law...simple fact is they are NOT popular with the police, I would suggest you discuss this with your FEO before you get too far down this route. A trawl round the web for a small (or even breakdown) cabinet will probably produce results and are a LOT more acceptable to the police!! Quote Link to post

Any SBS or O/U will fit into a breakdown box easily. Just close the gun and take the forend off, then remove the barells from the stock. 20 second job. Have you got anyone you can spend a bit of time with that shoots.. You may get some help from them if shotguns are new to you.. Quote Link to post

Then refit the wood to the barrels, and put the stock and barrels into the "break down" box in two pieces. As deker says, you may have trouble with a cable. Check with your FEO before purchasing one. I always recommend anyone starting out, to phone their local gun shop and/or clay ground with a gun shop attached. They often have 2nd hand boxes in stock, from people upgrading to a bigger box or a firearm type with ammo cab on it. They are often about half price, unworn usually as the locks and hinges are massively strong. Also, you can't keep passports and bank books securely in a cable!! Quote Link to post
