Guest Countryboyo
Howre things lads Im just writing in because I have a terrier I use for bushing but their are no rabbits about these days and my area has plenty of foxes so im thinking of getting in to digging. When I have been out bushing in the past the terrier has dissappeared down fox dens and has remained below for up to half an hour, He has also came out with a few nicks and small cuts on his nose. Ive never encouraged him to go to ground but he often does. He is a five year old male large breed jackrussel. Anyway I would love to see how he would get on in a dig and if anyone in the limerick or kerry area would be willing to take me out to try out the dog it would be greatly appreciated. If hes any good Il go off and buy a locator collar, If not then at least I tried. Thanks Quote Link to post

I dont have a locator collar either and id prefer to go out with an experienced digger to their own area where they know there would be a good earth for starting off a terrier. If I brought them up here chances are that the earths I know of would be undiggable. If they took me out in their area and I then got going in my own area and got my own permission then I would be more than happy to let them work my permission to return the favor. I would be willing to travel to cork, preferably north cork as cork itself is a good two hours away. There isnt many in ma area into digging and the ones I know that are are complete ar$***les. digging along the trail of a public walk and not back filling aswell as leaving carcases outside the earths to rot. Thanks for the replys Mike Quote Link to post

Thanks for the replys Mike Dont be like that buddy. Im just a lad that wants to try out his dog. Please dont start this suspicious anti acqusation crack lads. Id prefer to just erase the topic if yere going to be like that. If some one could take me out it would be great, I dont want to start off on my own as it would be too risky for the dog. Thanks again lads Quote Link to post

Guest Countryboyo
bring on your dog put him 2 ground listen 4 the bark(s) use a bar and spade and dig your first fox. if I HAD A CAR ID TAKE YOU OUT mYSELF I have a car lads ive no problem supplying the transport. All I want is the use of one of yere locator collars and yere supervision and advice. Ye might tel me that my dog isnt worth a s**t, and he mightent be but I want to give him a go. My main concern about the whole digging game is that i would dig in on top of the dog and injure him and im sure these types of mistakes are things that experienced lads can easily avoid. Guest E.Mc
Not being a smart arse lad but seriously, when ya look back over your topics you've posted there's not really much hunting content in them. Dreamy posts about lurchers, breeding wild rabbits, now ya wanna go digging. Really how do you expect genuine digging lads to take you seriously. It's difficult enough to get permissions, hard to get a good terrier then whomp someone that no one knows wants to try their hand at digging, take me out and show me the ropes is the line. Facts are dogs are being stolen, peoples permission is being wrecked by arseholes, so yeah I can see why anyone digging that has dogs that you can really dig to will be suspicious of someone that nobody knows. I see where your'e comming from, but at the same time, it's guys with decent dogs and good permission that has it all to loose. Quote Link to post
