anyone know a good place to get greyhound/lurcher coats?

Recommended Posts

well my gran, bless her, made my lurcher a coat as she said she looked cold in the kennel when she was looking after her so gave me a coat she had made until i buy one (she then told me she was going to give it to the big issue man before me...charming eh)

well does anyone know where i can buy a one that will fit a lurcher to shut my gran up as i already get 24/7 lectures about why i shouldnt hunt, went in to local put shop and they didnt have one that would fit properly as my dog was just simply the wrong shape

You can order them to the size you want, i got one for bruce, but he didnt like having it on, you might be better with a heat lamp in its kennel!!

shal have anouther look

i have electricity in the shed but my dad say its too over expensive to run a heat lamp (cheap bugger) got 7 horse rugs over the top of the cage to keep her warm and polystyreen round the outside and shed loads of rugs in with her but she still seems a little chilly, might take her with me one day this week and go on a shopping trip to try and find her one.....she liked having the one my gran made for her on....but then it fell to bits:laugh:

There's a company called Equafleece on line, they make fleeces for all sorts of dogs, you just send the measurements of the dogs back and chest size. They are fantastic quality and safe enough to leave on, when the dog is un attended without the worry of them getting tangled up, they fit like jumpers and don't have any straps or buckles. IMO they are a fantastic product, all my 3 have them now.

If you do realy want one then try on Lurcher link, theres a few people on there that make them to order,

if you order from them - then a % gos to LL, they are made to mesure,

http://www.lurcherlink.org/llink/forum/viewforum.php?f=19

but if your dogs never needed to were a coat - then by putting one on you will be making a rod for your own back,

as the dog will get used to wereing one and will start to feel the cold more.
