new to me co2 air rifle

Recommended Posts

As posted Earlier CO2 is not really suitable for powering Air rifles

Especially in winter time - in UK

Get more fluid than gas - which reallt effects power and accuracy

Expect in summer it will do the job but doubt it will be much good this time of the year

even if warmed up before use

Used to Shoot CO2 S & W pistols in Iron Plate Shooting

Used to warm up bottles in hot water bottles etc before use

But soon cooled down in use

i've just bought a sh benjamin bucaneer co2 rifle withh 88gm bottle has anyone ever had 1 and know its rabbit killing capabilities please

Hi. I don't know much about the Bucaneer apart from they're made in the U.S. (watch out for friendly fire!) by Crosman. I use a King Ratcatcher for close (ish) range pest control and have found it to be a really useful little tool. Yes, co2 does lose power when it gets cold but so long as you're not shooting at below 5.c it should be ok. I don't know why, but the 88g seem to work better than the 12g when it's chilly. My Benjamin co2 pistol really does drop off but the Ratcather still works fine. Same as always though, test it yourself to make sure it's performing as it should. If in doubt, wait for a warmer day!
