moley 115
Click Here I can't get a direct link up, but click on Flora & Fauna then Illegal Traps? the way i understand it ,there are no laws to say you must check traps set for small ground vermin every day, that tunnel with the bird in it is much longer than most i see and looks like the ends have bin reduced to stop entry by non targets, pity the general public is ignorat of the laws Quote Link to post
Holdaway 2
I find it difficult from that picture to tell how big the bird is. If that brown part is also the bird (underneath), then how the hell did a bird that size get in to it? I can see nothing wrong with the Fenn in a cubby, as moley says, the general public don't know a legal trap from any other, and yes accidents do happen - to us all. All we can do is ensure we comply to the rules and to our own conscience. H Quote Link to post
RatSnatcher 0
Looks staged to me if its a kestrel If you look at the entrance end it looks crimped in quite how a bird of prey would turn upside down then squeeze in there is beyond me Quote Link to post
ChrisJones 7,975
Could be. It's not difficult to stage a horror show if you're anti trapping. Quote Link to post

Malt 379
Looks a bit like a quail in that trap... Quote Link to post
RatSnatcher 0
I have zoomed right in moley but the picture distorts a lot, but looking at it it could be a chicken Quote Link to post

Rolfe 2
Going on the picture alone.........i haven't looked at the site. ......judging by the heather and snow......could it be a grouse that has tried to walk across the pole then as the bird has become trapped it has swung the wire tunnel right round so it hangs underneath. The notch on the top side pole clearly shows where the trap was seated originally. Just a guess. Rolfe. Quote Link to post
RatSnatcher 0
Moley, what I was saying is that one end seems to be more crimped at the bird end, the trap seems to be set before the bird to entice it in, to what possibly could be a dead chicken or something used as bait, you can also see the trap chain at the open end .....
