robert1955 0
I recently applied for a vriation to my FAc to allow me to buy a semi auto rimfire. Whilst my ticket was awai I phoned west yorkshire police and asked if they could add a shotgun to my ticket. A few days later I received a call from the police asking why I wanted a shotgun, to which I replied to shoot vermin etc. I was told I had this permission with my rimfire. But, said I, its very difficult to shoot crows and pigeons with a bullet whilst they are flying. This was agreed by the person phoning and thety said okay. Anyway to cut a long story short I now have a place for a section one shotgun on my FAC My query is, what is a good all round reliable semi auti 5 shot or more. I have heard a lot about various guns on this web site. But, as a beginner would I be okay spending a little and going for an Escort. I looked at one the other day and it seemed okay! I can not make my mind up between wood or plastic stock. Are they both the same or is plastic smaller. I don't need a small stock with a short reach as I am six foot four inches tall! I have fitted a device on my rimfires to allow the comb on the guns to be lifted so I am not bent double when shooting. Thanks for any advice in advance Rob. Quote Link to post
Fidgety 8
Do a search in this section about the Escort, not a popular gun amongst our more experienced shooters. Quote Link to post
v-max 2
More common is the binelli 8 shot but beretta do them Fabaem arm do a 6 & 8 shot. I would look at a beretta/binelli route as you only get one chance to get it right with a section 1 shotgun & both these are very good reliable auto's. To be honest you wouldent need more than an 8 shot as you do get 12 shot auto's. Quote Link to post
