Tallyho 181 Posted January 11, 2009 Report Share Posted January 11, 2009 Is it me or am i seeing more and more mole hills just lately, we had a drive to wales yesterday and every field and every bit of grass area were plastered, could it be somthing to do with the cold weather ??? i dont know any thing about moles, but i have noticed loads and loads of mole hills every where. so why could it be ????? Rolfe 2 Posted January 11, 2009 Report Share Posted January 11, 2009 My theory is that since the demise of Strychnine as an agricultural mole treatment..........(and i used to treat vast acreages every year)...... the mole population has exploded. That combined with the milder, wetter winters that has seen the worm population increase, which has also helped the mole thrive. This current mole infestation began in my opinion, during the last foot & mouth outbreak.....when I any many other agricultural pest controllers were denied access to infested areas. Rolfe.
