hows things fellas,im a new member and dont normally be on foarms...it seems like great chats ye have!!!! lot of info... i took my 6month old patterdale out for a look to see the other terriers at work today.she had a great time, what age do ye think i should i let her enter the burrow? and whats your toughts on feeding red meat? cheers

Alright mate any meat will do ,And dont get sending her in to early you might f**k her up ,Let her see what the other dogs are doing then when its been taken care off humainly let her have ago with the other dogs i would wait until shes over a year old ,Rats ok but be patient all the best

im a cavan man lad!!! looks like ill have to wait another 6 months then so,god knows how many blackbirds she will have killed in the back garden by then. ill stick a few photos of her when i figure out how to do it. got a great book last week from my uncle,hard workers:the real terriers. ye know of any more good books like that and where to get them??

Hi mate, welcome to the site, i'm new on here too, but one of the first things i did was buy a book from a good terrier man on here - "Johnny Bluck" called Breaking Through.

It's a very well made book on a limited run - signed by the author. Quite dear at £32.95 + postage. But should become a nice keepsake.

i have a 18 month old lakie i started him when he was 14 month old and he shown interest but didnt go to ground so i left it for 2 month and its just a matter of time before we land on one as for red meat i cant see whats wrong with that good luck lad. and all the best.

Yeah I'd leave it till next season before you enter her. Get her on the Ratting if you can, the both of you's will love it.

 

I've fed my dogs raw Beef, Lamb, Rabbit, Tripe, Chicken, as well as the bones as soon as they had their adult teeth come through. Before the proper teeth come through I used to feed raw but with out the bones, with a little bit of SA37 (Which I still use from time to time).

 

They get the odd bowl of dry food as well but raw is what they get most the time.
