Jordan 1
No your right ed its not very nice but it doesnt take much to look back through your post and check your spelling and grammar. When the person typing is missing a vowel or constanant from every word it gets beyond a joke. Yes we all start somewhere but alittle common sense doesnt go amiss. Hang around matty you got to take the pisstaking in your stride. Quote Link to post
Rabbithunter 456
yous are all shan Isn't that a bit of a 'chav' word??? When i was 15 i was doing my own stuff. Nobody else was intersted in it. and people who where interested in it were all arseholes from the local 'rough' estate i was jumping through gorse bushes, over dyke's. all sorts of places a 'normal' 15yr old wouldnt be. When i was 16 i invited a mate along and he decided it would be fun to swing the spade about at tree's and anything else. Needless to say, even though i was 16 and not fully mature, he wasnt invited back. Appreciate what is left of the countryside And don't be thinking it is a laugh to go after baby rabbits. They are next years sport. Keep visiting Matty, you will get the piss took out of you from time to time, but you will learn some valuable lesson's from the lads on here, and if no-one in your area is interested, then you can come here and talk to fellow ferreter's about your day's out Quote Link to post

Squirrel_Basher 17,100
Just to add to the summer ferretting thing-Some years ago,I worked for a rabbit clearance society. The work was all year round ,mostly gassing but some customers wouldnt have them gassed but paid their fees for clearance like the rest .We,3 in all had to ferret year round on these farms and learnt a fair bit about lay-ups and net skippers.Luckily ,the main of the work was on chalk downs, the buries being open and just holes in the ground. We always collared any ferret to ground as collars were supplied.[lucky me ]. We half heartedly netted buries but never worried about the odd bolt hole in cover .The lurchers took any not netted or they made the next holes and were killed by the ferret if they didnt bolt .Ferrets were fed well in the morning which helped to keep them off dead rabbits killed. We only gave buries a short time before picking up and moving on.If rabbits are going to bolt ,they seem to do so faster in the summer. We always had no fewer than 8 ferrets out ,mostly dogs but a few barren jills sometimes .We would leave a ferret on a kill and keep an eye on the bury from a distance. It was then a matter of racing over to pick it up before it re-enters.Ferrets that did not show were marked with a small white flag as possible digs later. At times it was hectic, with rabbits coming to us and back netting. Remember ,this was pure and simple pest control and a chore some days as all work can be . One thing we did notice was that after we had done an area in summer ,the remaining rabbits went down with mixie very soon after, guaranteed. This was due to the stress we put on them at a time they are most at risk from it . No more summer ferretting for me . foxdropper. Quote Link to post
