cheers flying fox for the feedback, glad the dog is coming on well, one of my lurcher,s called spider was bred , on the bitches side was greyhound whippet ,,, on the dogs side was 3/4 collie greyhound, and he was a fantastic dog great at ferreting great at lamping would slaughter fox mark setts was an out standing dog . he was my last lurcher, not had one for 5 years . so i feel like a novice again even though i worked em for over 20 years lol.

but i no no one with collie greyhound ,s only hancock , so i can do with loads of feed back on people who have got is dog,s , i don,t want feedback on the guy him self just how is dogs are working .

cheers all the best and thanks again to people who have sent me feedback it is really much appriecated

and please keep the feedback coming and of course any pictures , my family cannot wait for a pup lol, so any pictures from hancock dogs will make them happy , cheers savageboy :good::good::good::D

Hi savageboy, i will probably get shouted at but hey i don't care. I have 3 hancock dogs and i am pleased with them all. My 3/4 greyhound 1/4 Collie bitch is the best out of the 3, she takes all quarry, jumps, retrieves live to hand and she has speed, shes 25.5''. The 1/2 cross also does what the 3/4 does, but he just lacks that extra speed, endless amounts of stamina and brains though, 27''. 3/8 5/8 will take anything but fox, but she won't jump, shes 24''.

Now im not saying that hancock is the best breeder around, because he isn't and i don't like the way he rears the pups or keeps his dogs, but i didn't know anyone else who bred colie/greyhounds at the time i wanted some. Plus the fact, i didn't need hancock to socialize them coz i did it myself and i have no problems with them. :)

the amount of dogs hancock throws out there will be fantastic and absolute shite its mainly up to the owner and thats were i mainly lay the blame on bad dogs the 5(8th 3(8th is a good cross but i would look for working parents before i made a trip to the hancock kennel thanks mark

A few pics of my old 3/8 5/8.These dogs get exeptionally good at what you show them the most. They are definately a dog that gets better and better the more that you get them out.Not a dog you can just shut up in a kennel.

well as yer no i,ve gotme eye on greyhound bedlington whippet pup. but i all so like collie greyhound,s

so first hancock breeds them and as been in the game for years. now if i could get some feed back on these dogs, which would be the best for ferreting lamping , a first cross coillie greyhound or a

3/4 collie greyhpund . or a collie greyhound whippet. i want somthing about 23 inch up to 25 inch approx.

and some feed back on hancocks dogs, all this would help me quest for me lurcher pup .

cheers good hunting savageboy :good:

Hi mate :good: I have heard alot about hancock dogs, i have had one myself, and also bred from hancock. Alot of people slag them off but it is the same as i always say its not the dog its the person what is training it.

You have got to have alot of patience because the dog has got collie in and collies are one of the cleaverest dogs there is, and stubborn. You have got to buy them from 6-8 week old and socialise them alot and plenty of affection because hancock dont give them any, thats the reason why they can be hard to break.

I had one gave me he was ill treated he was 10 month old, it took me ages to get him right, and then i bred from him and kept a dog out of the litter he made a wonderful retreiver and alround hunting dog same has is dad.

ps: If i was you i would go for the 3/4 greyhound 1/4 collie or the 5/8 greyhound 3/8 border collie, because the beardly collie can be nervous but good when they are 2-3 years old.

I hope i have helped you with your question. :good:

Do you find the ones with more collie in them noticeably more intelligent and easier to train?

The 1/2 cross was easiest to train and is most intelligent, he is very headstrong though and is too colliefied! He is mental. The other 2 are much calmer, but they are still quite brainy, the 3/4 learns new tricks very quickly. :)
