Kay 3,709
I planned to go a walk early hours this morning with the dog & a lamp that i was given yesterday but that didnt happen so i went myself this morning & let the dog off the lead for the first time. I was very scared to loose incase he bugered off , but to my supprise he was fine & walked by me for ages, then he did explore a little bit on his own i was very jittery incase we came across another small dog while he was loose but luckly we didnt see any I think Rob enjoyed the walk even though it was so cold i couldnt feel my lips a few pics of him on the walk , nothing to get to excited about , but its a start I did have to walk in the opersite direction to get him to come to me for his lead back on, but he had about 40 mins off the lead Quote Link to post

Sighthound 49
Well done Kate. I noticed your post about the dog being depressed, perhaps only lead walking has lead to this? A greyhound needs a good gallop. I've had two ex racers and I know you never know what they are going to do when you first let them off the lead but yours looks fine and if it was going to bugger off it would have done today:) As for small dogs are you basing your fear on fact or what you have been told? Most (but not all) are fine. What about socialisation classes, most areas have them. All the best Edited to say I would take that coat off when he is off the lead, I once saw a dog tangle up up in a tree whilst running at full speed, very nasty.
