Just wanted to know what you think is the best round is for roe and red in .243 for my new Remington 700 SPS-V. Deker 3,478 Posted January 10, 2009 Report Share Posted January 10, 2009 There are lots...Roe and Red...are you after a suitable round for each, or one for both?...reality is, whatever people say you will have to try a few to see what you and the gun get on with! Big Dog or Small Horse size...is there a single round suitable for both...never could understand the "law" and the .243 malarky for both...I compliment Scotlad for showing some sense in this department. Sorry...just off on one again..not after a debate...90g or 100g PRVI softpoint works for me, but almost any lightweight, fast Ballistic tip will bring them down quick (again, not looking for a debate), these kill well, but tend to do a lot of meat damage! philip140 6 Posted January 11, 2009 Report Share Posted January 11, 2009 Hey bud, i have the same rifle in .223. how do you find the trigger on yours? mine is really crisp with little creep but very heavy. i have tried to adjust it but they glue those adjustment screws in real tight! Phil My brother has a remmy 700, he measured the factory trigger pull at 4.75 lb, after my advice he fitted a timney trigger (i have one fitted to my howa m-1500) which cost him £115 his trigger pull has now been set to 1.75 lb (minimum 1.50lb possible) he is delighted with the transformation of his new rifle, we have relatively little knowledge in the way of rifle building but found this an easy modification to make to our rifles.
