johnnyg0197 0
Well, its all finished now. From this point on things will change. Please report any new classifieds that are clearly just adverts and/or people spewing out dogs. They are not welcome here. This takes immediate effect. And we would like to thank everyone for their vigilance in reporting items that need moderating. It is much appreciated.......... ya its time dogs stopped been throwen from pillar to post

stabba 10,745
Well obviously it doesnt seem to working. Just take a look at the past months for sale section. Peddlers galore. imo you should be a member for a minimum of 6 months before you are allowed to sell anything. How many Newbies are selling on their first and second posts. Loads. Come on mods. Sort it out. atb stabba

scoop and digger 1
Well done mod it about time
coursing_lad 45
maybe appoint a mod for that section , on the basis that members should PM the mod to verify the sale , but im guessing the mod would need a very big PM usage box . ..
J Darcy 5,871
We cannot trawl through that section 24/7. Despite what some may think we do have other things going on in our lives. We do the best we can. We rely on people pressing the report button then they will get sorted.Instead of writing how shit we are at our job then press the report button for anyone selling dogs that is new, or has made a habit out of it. The peddlers are easy enough to see, but we do not have the time to read very post....so ....press report....cheers JD
shawbarker 0
I agree 100 pc !! you should be limeted to 1 or 2 litters a year, lets face it if you have a nice dog you'll want to breed fron her if only to keep a pup back for your self, So what do you do with the rest of the litter ?? you sell them to people like us thats into hunting, on a site like this. Not rocket science isit
davidlloyd 16
After reading through the comments, I have tried to think of a way in which people could advertise their pups, as I see this is the biggest issue on here, not the selling of the odd air rifle or bag of purse nets. I don't know if this will work, but it might be worth a try. If someone breeds a litter for their own use and not to make money, couldn't we just have a section where any spare pups from the litter were offered free of charge to any genuine lads/lasses that contribute regularly on the site? Then we could maybe do away with the 'For Sale' section for all dogs/pups. I know we would have to put a lot more into making this work; just an idea! I bred a litter two years ago and had nine pups in all, two of which are still with me and doing very well. Three were gifted to friends, two of which unfortunately have already been passed on, even after showing good promise. Sometimes people change their minds too easily. Others were sold for £ or less to other lads I knew; one or two still have them and others have been sold on. How can you tell who is going to keep them or not? Very difficult. Maybe through this site we would be able to monitor the new owner's progress with them putting on regular posts and updates. Maybe even better if we had a Wanted section - what about something like this... Wanted Collie Greyhound pup 1/4 Collie, 3/4 Greyhound Required for good, permanent home Willing to travel Has anybody got a litter planned in the near future? If someone is willing to help me I would keep them regularly updated through this site on the pup's progress We all have spare pups when breeding a litter, I for one am not into culling spare pups and I'm sure many others here aren't either. So this way there is no money made and more genuine litters would appear on the site as the money-makers would not bother. Even a free of charge stud section would work, where genuine studs can be seen working and the bitch could be approved by the stud owner to make sure both parties are happy for the mating to take place. After both parties have met and worked the dogs to show their capabilities, this could be posted on the site and the progress of the mating followed. If people see this they could mention an interest in the litter. This would give both parties time to look at the members suitability for gifting a pup to them. It sounds like a lot of work for nothing but the pleasure of seeing pups in genuine homes being worked would be well worth it to me at least and this may go a long way to improving the already wonderful Lurcher. This also gives newcomers to the sport and this site the chance to start off the right way with the right dog at no cost to them. I must say I think if the pup is to be rehomed at any point in its life it should be offered back to the breeders to ensure the best home is found and no cash changes hands for the dog/pup. Hopefully by doing all of the above this would not happen very often. If this was to become a success, surely this would go some way to stop peddlers cashing in on breeding rubbish? Irish Lurcher 1,013
Me thinks ya need to come back to the real world, would never work, best to ban all new comers from selling dogs for one year
Taffybull 48
Sounds a v.tidy idea that Dai. perhaps the site would stop being used as an oppertunity for peddlers to 'knock out' a few litters. I for one have noticed many of newbies that have'nt been on the site 2 minutes and are allready flogging off pups/dogs. should crack down on it! alb, taff
