im not one to judge a dog but i agree that every person i see with a bullx is young lads that just want the dogs to go out and bash fox and the deer. dont get me wrong i have nothing against these dogs but if im not mistaken isnt it banned now to do that what these dogs are mainly for. i mean if you were to just go after the legal quarry in this country i know you dont need these big hefty dogs to do the job thats just my opinion dont like it then tough

When you ban somthing then your asking for shit you tell a kid he cant have somthing he will go and get it full stop

anything that gets banned in the uk starts more and more doing it end of bud did bulls not get band and there more of them now funny as f**k i love bulls and bullx there a great pet and there good at there job be it rats rabbits or what ever you do they put 110 % in to it

Its some of the idiots that own them that give us a bad name, not the dog, and its not just bull crosses. Tarring everyone with the same brush is something that the antis do, because some jumped up yo

iam 16 and love cooking, hunting and dogs so my colliexgreyhound feeds me and the dogs on a regular basis but i supose she could take the odd charlie aswel (pre ban obvcourse ;))

i can see why people have bullx for bigger game (pre ban obvcourse)and i would quite like one one day but at the moment i dont need one as my colliexgrey does everything i need and more

i find myself surronded by many people my age disrespecting there quarry by not dispatching them humanly and by taking discusting trophy pictures to conpensate for the small size of there c*cks....they are not willing to ask questions from the more experienced and wont admit they are still learning...i, myself look up to my elders as iam from a non hunting family so its the only real way i can progress in to being a better hunter and also believe that my three main rules in hunting are to dispatch quarry as humanly as possible, respect the quarry and put all of my quarry to good use (e.g. food)

thatb is the right attitude to have if you want advice the pm me i dont claim to know everything but someone i know will know the answer. respect will get you far, keep it up and maby some may follow

get the dog that suits your need not the dog who looks the best worker always over show or looker , big muscular types maybe look good but well its the tempement you need and working ability you need not just piont and slip dogs

Oh these threds just keep on bouncing up, same 'ol story, got nothing else to blow hot air about??

I'm sure some on here, have this dogs of this type that do have the right temperiment and working ability aplenty and do not use them just as point and slip dogs!!!

Before you decry a certain 'lurcher type' look at a decent one in the field, see what it can do.

The multitude of different crosses today all bring sommat different to the table and if they were that poor wouldn't have made it thus far in this fickle game.

As for running certain quarry, what the feck has it got to do with anyone else, run an kill what you want (or need), your game is yours and were all a long time dead!!!!

You show your ignorance by belittling before you have witnessed, ANY of the more popular types of lurcher can have both good and bad examples of type, though mostley its owners that let them down.

i remember reading an article in country mans weekly about it .thats why you get brindle greyhounds and whippets, the brindle comes from the old bulldogs that used to be crossed with the running dogs when it was illegal to own a pure bred greyhound unless you were a noble man.

bull was put into greyhounds cause they were losing their gameness. thats were the different colours came from

i read this in the poachers companion. its got lots of articles and fantastic stories that are hundreds of years old
