olliedakennard 0
as i said the jack russel bit was just enthisisng how easy it is compared to daytime hares so if you wanna test youre dogs get out in the daytime and leave the lamp at home. People who are saying i would pay anything for a jack russel obviously cant read as i stated that it was a figure of speech so grow up and put a decent argument back to me Quote Link to post
whin 463
olli my old mate if you think its easy come up to were we hunt regulary on open land big slips and well if you dog aint pacy with good feet and wind heel only get easy ones when the grounds roling you lose them out the lamp and they use the land to fech of ,but i have been in places were i caut a few and left the rest no sport , as ive got daytime hares lots of them and i maen rakes of them and some were easy sep oct i dont rate hares localy until dec then they test good dogs ,i think your not been about to try all sorts of places to make comment mate not with the way you go on ,maybe wrong Quote Link to post
Rabbithunter 456
so hares are easier on the lamp? So people say we shouldnt lamp them. rabbits are easier on the lamp, than in daylight... so should we not lamp rabbits? Quote Link to post
border lad 1,047
see there a hare catchingjack russel got toes from feild with big hare , you have to laugh ,jrt crosses for hares wolf crosses for deer , mastifff greyhounds etc for bears feching brilliant , and better whats the best ferret or whats the best colour for chaseing rabbs ,must be geting near the moon time well lads, really I am shocked to say the least at some of these comments, about how many hares killed in the daylight, I used to course on the Home of the scottish coursing, my dog collie cross with the best coursing greyhound blood in him, ((( I mean the best, from Cotton king, who won the waterloo cup and trained by Hardie wright, and down to a dog called 100 pipers, owned trained by jOHNNIE WALKER, this was my true love, COURSING, and in my time if you had a dog what 2out of three, you had a dog, at this time of year Jan, Feb, give the hare a 50 yards to 60yards start and you had sport sigle handed, and believe me lads I ran on that land from the late fifties up to 86 and I had witnessed dogs bieng carried of the field, over those years and I ran dogs on that land all of that time, without trouble from any one, because we went about our business, in the proper manner, and also the hare does not run any faster today as what he done allthose years ago, and I WILL TELL YOU ALL I would never boast How many my dog could do but I offered any one who thought he had a dog, a bit of sport, thank you all, and please to all with any snide remarks, after this post the guy who said ten hares, on that land he would not last with ten rabbits and I am telling the truth, Quote Link to post

will.f11 24
Lamping hares is pointless with a dog at night a jack russel could probably catch one. thats true. Apparently they are easy as piss on lamp as they dont really run Quote Link to post
