arveyboy 0
i watched these on bbc iplayer last night. theres one on deer stalking, one on duck flighting and there is one tonight at 10pm on rabbit shooting. very interesting in my opinion. however, there is a big case of the 'shooting is for egotistical, sick b*****ds who dont have lives among a large proportion of the people. they basically introduce 9 people from different walks of life to shoot, butcher and eat their own deer in Scotland (same with the mallard and rabbits). some have shot before, others are anti-shooting, pro shooting, vegans, vegetarians and one woman who thinks that noone ever needs to eat meet ever again  thought a few of you may want to watch it ;) http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00gmxq9/Kill_It_Cook_It_Eat_It_Series_3_Deer/ http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00gn0pj/Kill_It_Cook_It_Eat_It_Series_3_Duck/ as i say the rabbit one is on bbc three tonight at 10 if anyone fancies watching it. jack Quote Link to post

I like the way people that go on there as so oblivious to how things are killed and think its "not right to kill them" but rearly, they get killed alot worse in the wild hunted by other predetors than they do by us, and if we didnt bread them to eat them, most of the differnt varity of animals would die out. (talking about the comercial animals here not wild) Quote Link to post
sauer 2
normally i love this program and the deer stalking one was not too bad and can only help our PR side of things really... .....but last nights one with the duck shooting.....i didscussed this with another and he's totally right... it was not impressive at all!!!!! shooting pumkins at 15 feet!!! please!!!! show it at realistic shooting range...(maybe it was for tv) no hearing protection ..... not even for the 9 peeps when they where shooting the pumpkin im sorry but i dont believe in the..." nshoot then pick up later carry on.....they should be picking the birds as they were shot..probably would have got the 2 ducks they lost if they picked up sooner. and jesus did you see the state o the duck whenthe chef browned it off for cooking????!!!!!!! half the down and feather roots still in!!! there was other stuff but ach well.... dont get me wrong i loved the PR pitch that this program is pushing ...can only help our side of things with joe public so keep it coming!! arveyboy 0
i really didnt like the ignorant views of the blond girl in the rabbit program. hugely ignorant idealogies towards the gamekeeper and his livelihood. dont be so narrow minded :wallbash: :wallbash: Quote Link to post
night moocher 41
she got on my nerves ,dont even know why she was there. Quote Link to post
dytkos 17,819
she got on my nerves ,dont even know why she was there. Checkout Cathy, the girl with the specs from the animal sanctuary. Bet she'll be practising her necking when she gets back! Quote Link to post
Fidgety 8
The stupid blonde was there because she wants to be on telly, and be famous, maybe get jugs out........ Hat off to the animal sanctury girl! Even the animal rights activist was willing to try and get a grasp of what goes on. Edited January 7, 2009 by Fidgety Quote Link to post
Llanshooter 0
She just seemed like a failed Big Brother contestant. These programs are really interesting. As with the first series in an abbatoir I think it's good to see people have their views challenged, i.e that animals are cute, cuddly things and meat comes in pastic trays with bar codes challenged and the two aren't connected. Just a shame it's tucked away at 10:00 on BBC 3 rather than 8:00 on BBC1 Quote Link to post
Fidgety 8
"Just a shame it's tucked away at 10:00 on BBC 3 rather than 8:00 on BBC1" Agreed, but i think that time zone on BBC1 is reserved for more quality and educational viewing, like Eastenders ...... Quote Link to post

That's too intellectual for me, I'm usually doing something practical while that's on - skinning, gutting, cooking, DIY or something. Tonight I painted a wall to watch it dry as I had nothing better - Quote Link to post
endasmail 0
thought the program on the deer hunting was good ,learned stuff i didnt no about deer stalking Quote Link to post
AzMaN 0
that blonde last night was just comedy. and that activist, although she didnt agree with it, she still watched it and agreed it was humane and i loved that pet center worker, she had the right idea, wild animals are totaly different to household pets but i bet she gets some stick when she goes back to work Quote Link to post
sauer 2
aye that blonde girl!!! gggrrrrrrrr!!!! "if i had a rat in my house i would just shoo it out or something!!!!!" im afraid i would have walked out the room if i was there after telling her to f**cking wise up and learn to live in the real world!!! after saying that. some folk on this planet never cease to amaze me.... they must have pink clouds and blue gras and everything is brillliant in lal la land.....unbelievable!!! its probably on at the time it is due to its "graphic nature" but at least its bbc1 mainstream sauer Edited January 8, 2009 by sauer Quote Link to post
sheepworrier 1
Well if that blonde rat was anywhere near my house I'd shoo her away with a big stick !! As for the sanctuary worker, good show, not made any new friends in work but heh, all in all not a bad programme. Quote Link to post
Finkley 1
Horses for courses. If all of us thought the same way about everything our species wouldn't last long. Mother Nature is just covering all the bases. Quote Link to post
