ghillies 209
''The gun was seized during the execution of a warrant at Fisher's home in Tamworth in connection with a domestic incident. Heath Westerman, prosecuting, said the rifle was in Fisher's fishing gear. Police tests showed it was potentially lethal to humans and thus required a Firearms Certificate.'' Quote Link to post
samwhittam1 0
How powerful do they class as lethal? Quote Link to post
The Caretaker 0
How powerful do they class as lethal? Anything over 12ftlbs is obviously classed a firearm, but they are all lethal in the wrong hands! Quote Link to post
redeye jedi 39
sounds like the guy was probably a tw@t anyway! why else would they be going through his fishing kit when he's been rowing with his misses? they obviously wanted to nick him for something. i regularly check mine when i got to the ballistics center for a bottle refill. i bet this has got a few bums twitching if they just started shooting or just bought a s/h airgun Quote Link to post
Thorburnlad 0
yes, bum twitcher for me lol Quote Link to post

stealthy1 3,964
Bought loads of guns over the years, never thought to have any checked. Quote Link to post
mad al 146
the filth were on a mission with this fella if you ask me. If they felt that the woman's life was in danger/threats to kill, the rifle had him stitched up for them, down the nick wack a chrono on the rifle where they just happen to use much heavier pellets that nine times out of ten will send any rifle into the twilight zone and the fellas as good as banged up. Apart from that, who else goes fishing and shooting at the same time , now if was fishin with the rifle I'd see the sense in it Quote Link to post
ABDog 0
or just bought a s/h airgunBuying new, from an RFD, is no guarantee you'll buy a legal firearm. My first one was purchased new and, at the firing range, was chrono'd at a consistent 14.4ft/lb . . . Quote Link to post

My first one was purchased new and, at the firing range, was chrono'd at a consistent 14.4ft/lb . . . I bought a second hand HW90 too, from the boss man of a local rifle club that fired @ 17 ft/lbs , come to think of it Quote Link to post
fin and fur 2
A good point to get your Rifle chrono checked i bought mine from a RFD and asked the ft/lbs at the time of purchase to be told that it was producing 11.4ft/lbs with superdomes although i must admit that i have never thought to get it checked since then Quote Link to post
ABDog 0
When I took mine back to the rfd, he chrono'd it with one of them cheapo plastic jobbies thatare held to the end of the barrel and, according to him, it was legal. The chrono at the shooting club was a much more substantial affair. Quote Link to post
