Nothing at all wrong with a Baikal for a 1st gun, buy 2nd hand you'll lose little when you trade up. Too rusty on prices to comment on that. Make sure the gun fits, you and feels right, far more important that which model for a new starter Quote Link to post

Might be better if you go for something with a single trigger (anything abit more modern) - I tried an old double trigger gun the other day and kept forgetting the other trigger for the second barrel. Single trigger is by far the norm these days so it'd be better for you learn on a single than to get used to a double and then change again when you upgrade. Quote Link to post

cyclonebri1 8
My favourite/2nd/last shotgun was a Laurona with a double trigger, but with a difference. I may get this the wrong way round as it has been a while but the front trigger fires the top barrel first and the bottom barrel second. The back trigger does it the opposite way round. I really liked this, no need to switch triggers in a panic, and the safety is left as a stand alone doing just that Quote Link to post
