I started to feed a lurcher litter meat(butchers off cuts) put through a blender at between 3 and 4 weeks, make the consistency of sick(as mum would do naturaly). They'll make a right mess to start with but they'll get the hang of it and mum will clean them up anyway, the jabs will be around the 10-12 week mark depending on how they are getting on.

Feed mine as early as possible roughly about three weeks, feed them well diluted mashed up weatabix and warm milk, scrambled eggs, well minced beef and always leave fresh bones beef or lamb replenished daily in the summer because of the flies.Worm them at three weeks 1/4 dronatal tab increase to half 5 weeks Mine are German Shepherd pups so you with terrier pups better stick to 1/4post-5621-1231186794.jpg

This is Frost my latest Pup at Three months 18 kilos weigh her the other day up to 24 kilos four months

i also give pups raw beef at about 4 weeks old and dont blend it either..just a bugger if you run out of meat and try to give normal puppy food they wont touch it

rabbit and weetabix are not suitable puppy diets. mine start to get fed a combination of a readymade balanced puppy diet, soaked and mixed with meat (beef usually) at 3 weeks.....little at a time....made into a sloppy porridge and gradualy getting firmer ove the weeks. they need feeding 5 times a day to start with and as you gradullay reduce the time the bitch spends with them, then the feed quantity must increas. Mine are weaned by 8 weeks with mum just popping in to visit and do some mothering, but no feeding by this age. presuming you are just having the basic vaccinations, then usually 1st is 8 weeks and 2nd at 10 weeks. this is really really basic breeding husbandry....it really worried me people take on breeding a litter without even the most basic info :(

I feed the bitch in with the pups and as soon as they start to take an interest thats when i start them on solids. At feeding time i then take the bitch out to feed and put the pups some food down. I use scrambled eggs, rice pudding, weetabix, mince, rabbit, puppy comlete (pero) soaked in water, i dont use a blender either but to start they have really mashed up weetabix or scrambled. I dont think there is any definitive age , just when they are ready, my last litter were eating at 1 wek old! thats the earliest ive had but usually by 3/4 weeks they should be sowing a healthy interest in solids.
