lurchergrrl 1,441
When Kye & I were married we spent I think maybe 700 quid on 2 nice, weighty plain gold bands (mine is YG, his is WG, they are thick, like 1/4" or so) spent 65 quid for the marriage license AND ceremony at the Drive-Through Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas, wore our own clothes, another 100 quid on a nice meal, and went home to bed ... never changed a thing with us. Was'nt Elvis your witness Always loved the sound of your wedding, if i was ever mad enough.... I'm with you HC - that sounds perfect and a lot of fun Think carefully Crafty ... craftycarper 0
Im glad you put this on Crafty,im in the exact same position!I got engaged Xmas eve and borrowed her mums ring cos ill be fecked if im going to pick one to be told its not what she wants but maybe regretting it now as shes going on about the 2 grand mark, which i aint happy with either A nice holiday sounds better to me! thats the problem, money goes in by standing order to a account...she's gonna pick it, but i presume i'm gonna be there....a rings a ring to me, all look the same apart from size i suppose...just a lump of metal at the end of the day. Funny thing are girls you know....was just talking to a friend who said i've got a nice engagement ring for sale, i asked how much (not that i would buy it ) she replied "only joking, i love it its gorgeous. But i would never wear it again" now where is the sense in that i ask

lurchergrrl 1,441
I had mine made using a design I came up with, and the stones from my Mum's wedding rings. It doesn't look like a typical engagement ring at all, so I still wear it sometimes. It's very nice, if I do say so myself

craftycarper 0
well bit of a update on the ring scenario folks.....today we went out and got it. She spotted a ring when she was out shopping with her mother yesterday. Bottom line was she said it was what she wanted, white gold, 1 ct stone and it was secondhand (that surprised me) but........it was way too dear in her opinion as i had already agreed to £1200 being more than enough....and here it comes........ring valued at £3199...selling at £2199. I went and had a look today with her and said if we can get it down to £1900 i would buy it there and then, guess what....her reply was no ...£1800. I told her to go ahead as she had me money and that we would be coming out with the ring be it £1800 or £1900 i ain't ****ing about for the sake of a hundred quid. Got it for the £1800 we offered, she is well over the moon and i'm now happy that she is happy....sorted. Edited January 15, 2009 by craftycarper

craftycarper 0
Ouch....well i ain't replacing it if it goes walkies.
