valerio 32
Saturday evening, after an hard day hunting wild boars I got a phone call from a friend, asking for help cos he lost a dog and a bitch to ground.I said that I'd go and help him the next morning.Sunday morning at -5 c°,with all the digging tols in my car, I drove the 70 km to this place and met with my friend. When we arrived to the earth,I became mad :a really step bank totally made of stone with two small hole disappearing in the stone.I was yet sure that my tools would be totally useless.I had an hard go to my friend, said to him that he is a total idiot,to put not one but two dogs to ground in that hell of a place, that to his words had never been succesfully worked .After a bit of a scuffle we started listening to the oles and after sometimes we heard the dog bailing and trying to get out.We tried to dig with the picks but we were going nowhere,so my friend went to look for someone with a mechanical digger. After two hours he came back with a man,he had a look at the place and said no,the place was too steep and too dangerous. We went back home later, after closing the oles with some wood branches, with the only hope that the dogs would find a way to come out. This morning we went back with another friend .We found the dog,a 3 years old jagdterrier named Killer,at one of the oles, looking really bad and with some nasty bites on the face and the neck.Still no sign or sound from the bitch. We waited there untill 3 pm and than we closed the oles another time. All the time I kept asking to the owner "WHY??"HOW YOU CAN BE THAT STUPID?".We are going back tomorrow but I feel for the worst .The bitch was a 9 year old veteran,a bit past now,but in her prime she gave to the owner and to all of us some really good days hunting,She really deserved better. Terrier man 38
Rent a kango hammer... but be carefull not to cave it in or the movment of the rocks could cause the tube to collapse what ever you decide to do theres a strong chance the bitch is still alive unless the dog pushed the bitch in ontop.. then she could well be dead.. hope he gets her out.. valerio 32
Thats a good idea Liam,I'll phone to a friend of mine that works in constructions to see if he can help with some tool. The problem with the dog's owner is that he likes his wine to much and keeps doing stupid things.when he does not drink he is a good hunter and a generous guy,but when he drinks......... I'll come back tomorrow with more news. Quote Link to post

valerio 32
This morning,we went back to the earth, with a power hammer I had taken from a builder friend,a generator capable of doing 380w electric energy and 200 metres electric cable.but luckily we didn't need it,as the old bitch was waiting for us at the ole.She is really mauled, has lost all his remainig tooths and is probably ready for retirament but she is alive and thats is the most important thing.Hope this will be a good lesson for the owner. Welcome back old Astra . Edited January 6, 2009 by valerio Quote Link to post
